Liu Xuejin, the eldest grandson of Liu Guojun and executive director of the Qiushi Science and Technology Foundation, said, “The entrepreneurial and innovative spirit and sentiments for the people of our ancestors are the most precious wealth left to us. We hope that through this renovation and opening of the former residence, this spirit can be passed down.”

Mr. Liu Guojun is a famous patriotic industrialist and one of the pioneers of China’s modern textile industry. His former residence is located at No. 82 Qingguo Lane, Tianning District, covering an area of 2297.8 square meters. It is a municipal cultural protection unit. Among them, they include Tianxiang Tower (former residence of Qu Qiubai – birthplace of Qiubai), a national key cultural protection unit, and Tang Jingchuan Residence – Bagui Hall, a provincial cultural protection unit.

During the event, Liu Jiesheng, the great-grandson of Liu Guojun and Hong Kong and Macao member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, also donated and handed over a couplet handwritten by Mr. Liu Guojun to the Municipal Archives:

“A man is old and his heart is not old, and he will always run with the party.”

This activity is a useful practice to promote the protection, revitalization and utilization of cultural relics in our city, and is also a positive measure to assist the development of Changzhou’s celebrity community work.

The Liu Guojun Virtual Museum is a digital repository containing public and private collections of Mr. Liu Guojun (1887-1978).
