Liu Guojun Memorial Hall Hosts Narration Contest at Changzhou Liu Guojun Vocational Technology College

To further explore the cultural and educational value of the school, strengthen students’ awareness of knowing, loving, and honoring their school, and enhance their sense of identity and belonging, the Information Office organized the “Knowing History, Loving the School, Keeping the Original Aspiration — Learning from the Past to Continue the Legacy” Liu Guojun Memorial Hall Narration Contest.
Since its launch in mid‑October, the event has attracted enthusiastic participation from all members of the Liu Guojun Memorial Hall Narration Society. After mobilization and submission of entries, contestants gave presentations around four themes: “Self‑strengthening through adversity,” “Textile magnate,” “Pure devotion to the people,” and “An enduring legacy.” These vividly showcased Mr. Liu Guojun’s legendary life journey, from a poor apprentice to founding the Dacheng textile enterprise, and later donating to education and giving back to his hometown.
Judges evaluated both preliminary and final rounds across multiple dimensions, including language expression, demeanor and presentation, time management, and innovative format. In the end, ten contestants stood out, winning first, second, and third prizes. The finals also drew many society members to observe and learn on site.
This event not only highlighted the talents of the Liu Guojun Memorial Hall Narration Society members and improved their narration skills, but also helped further promote students’ study and inheritance of the Guojun Spirit. It encouraged them to become new‑generation “Guojun people” who know, love, and honor their school, while practicing diligence, virtue, discernment, and steadfastness.
